Socialization: Most people agree it is one of the most important things to do with new dogs and puppies. However, what exactly IS socialization and how do you make sure you are socializing your puppy (or older dog!) in the most constructive way possible? In our seminar “Socialization: What is it and how to do it RIGHT” we will answer these questions and more! This two-week seminar is divided into two sections. In the first week we will talk all about what socialization, when to get started, some common misconceptions about how to socialize your puppies, why socialization isn’t JUST for puppies but older dogs as well, and how you can be involved in your dog’s socialization in the most constructive way possible. This week is JUST a presentation and DOGS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED!!
In our second week, will do demonstrations with a few dogs to show you how to implement the techniques we talked about in the first week. We will go over the best way to introduce your dog to new people, new environments, and new dogs as well as handling and strange, scary objects (vacuum cleaner anyone!!) to make your life with your new dog as easy and fluid as possible!
Due to the one on one structure of the second week if you bring a dog you will be asked to keep your dog in a crate, or your car, until it is your turn. If your dog can not handle being in a crate it is best to just come and watch the other dogs work. Crates will not be provided if you bring your dog. Working spots are limited to six, so if you are interested it is best to act quickly!”
Have you ever thought your dog just does SO MUCH sniffing there should be a class for that? Well, there is! Scent Work is a fun game based on professional detection work that is great…
