NEW! Nose Work Field Trips!

Tired of doing nose work in the same ol’ spot week after week? Well now you don’t have to!

Come join us for a few hides in a novel location. Open to all dogs that have completed Nose Work 3 or higher. We will work on exteriors, vehicles and anything else we have available in the environment! Session will be 1-2 hours, depending on how many dogs we have

$45 per dog /session.

Intro to Nose Work:

Based on the same methods used in drug and bomb detection work, we introduce dogs to the fun game of “nose work”! This game is a great confidence builder for nervous dogs and can help socialize puppies to new environments. For those dogs with a lot of energy this helps to tire them out and make our lives easier in the process. Any dog can do it from the small chihuahua to the giant great dane, the dog’s natural differences does not impede their ability to hunt. We will introduce them to searching in two of the four search types: Interior and containers.

Nose Work 2: Intro to Odor

In this class we introduce your dog to the odor Birch and continue to build their ability to search in other contexts including exteriors and formal containers. We prepare you and your dog for the ORT, or Odor Recognition Test, as well as teaching your dog to solve more complex odor problems.

Nose Work Work 3:

After Intro to Odor we continue to introduce your dog to the other foundational odors, Anise and Clove, and continue preparing them for the NW1 and introducing them to the final element: vehicles

Nose Work Work 4:

Continuing to develop their skills in the nose arts, we introduce your dog to some of the most complicated types of hides, including inaccessible and suspended hides. We also prepare you for the NW2.

$185 – 6 Weeks of Classes. 

Nose Work Work 5:

In the most advanced level of Nose Work classes we prepare you and your dog for the NW3 and more advanced trials with your dog.
